The Colorado Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) is a statewide program that provides survivors of domestic violence, sexual offenses, and/or stalking with a legal substitute address for interacting with all state and local government agencies. The purpose of the ACP is to reduce the risk of future harm by providing participants with an alternative (but legal) address for creating public records. If used correctly, the substitute address, and not the actual address, will show up in public records. When the participant uses their substitute address, any mail with that address arrives at the ACP. The program repackages the mail and forwards it to the survivor’s actual or mailing address. To be eligible for ACP enrollment, a person must be a survivor of domestic violence, stalking or sexual assault who fears for his or her safety. The applicant must have evidence of the victimization, but a court order or police report are not required. The applicant must have either relocated within the past 90 days or be planning to relocate.

Previously a program of Asian Pacific Development Center (APDC), the Cultural Development & Wellness Center Victims Assistance program provides support to victims and witnesses of crime throughout the entire state of Colorado. Services include: crisis counseling, emergency housing, case management, social services, legal and personal advocacy, victim compensation funds, and help applying for financial services. Services are confidential and provided free of charge to victims. To get help, call, email, or complete the online referral form.

The VISTAS program offers comprehensive support to victims of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and general crime. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, case management, mental health support, legal representation, education programs, and more. Assistance is provided for divorce, child custody, and protection order paperwork, as well as applications for T visas, U visas, and VAWA. Services are available in English and Spanish to victims statewide in Colorado.
The Initiative

The Initiative provides services, support, and resources to people with disabilities who are experiencing domestic violence, neglect, sexual assault, or other violent crime. It is a fully remote organization, and is not an emergency shelter. Services include: safety planning, assistance with the Address Confidentiality Program, relocation assistance, court accompaniment, victim’s compensation support, referrals for legal support, and more. To seek services, call the office or complete the intake form on their website. The Initiative serves people currently residing in Colorado.
