Included in this list are organizations that provide free or low-cost legal services to victims and survivors of abuse, as well as to others who qualify. Even if the organization does not have a lawyer available to represent you in court, you may want to ask if there is a lawyer with whom you can consult to obtain advice. We list the organizations by the county where the office is located, but many offices serve multiple counties. We indicate the “counties served” whenever possible. The Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) offers legal assistance to eligible low-income Georgia residents who live outside the metro Atlanta area. Their services for domestic violence survivors include: assistance with orders of protection, custody, child support, healthcare, SNAP, Medicaid, Unemployment, housing protections, an elder abuse program, and more. GLSP works to ensure services are available to clients who speak Spanish, those who have limited English, and those who are deaf and hard of hearing. Individuals can apply for services through the online application on their website, via telephone, or in person during their walk-in hours. Through their 10 regional offices, GLSP serves 154 of the 159 counties in the state.
