Lawyer Referral Services

If you are a victim or survivor of abuse, you may want to ask the Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service whether or not they screen for lawyers who are experienced in handling domestic violence cases. The Alexandria Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service is a legal consultation service. For a fee of $55, paid to the Service in advance, clients receive a referral for a 30-minute appointment with an Alexandria Bar Association attorney who works in the client’s particular area of need. They offer a 24-hour, online fully automated referral system at: https://alexandria.barlrs.com

The Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) is a non-profit public service of the Fairfax Bar Association and meets the American Bar Association standards for lawyer referral services. The LRS program was designed to assist those who are able to pay normal attorney fees but whose ability to locate legal representation is frustrated by a lack of experience with the legal system, a lack of information about the type of services needed or a fear of the potential costs of seeing an attorney. You will be charged $40 for a 30-minute consultation with a lawyer. Serving the Northern Virginia area.
