Legal Assistance
Included in this list are organizations that provide free or low-cost legal services to victims and survivors of abuse, as well as to others who qualify. Even if the organization does not have a lawyer available to represent you in court, you may want to ask if there is a lawyer with whom you can consult to obtain advice. We list the organizations by the county where the office is located, but many offices serve multiple counties. We indicate the “counties served” whenever possible. Snohomish County Legal Services (SCLS) provides free civil legal aid services to eligible low-income residents of the county, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. Areas of service are primarily family law, bankruptcy, housing, and wills for seniors. SCLS staff attorneys may sometimes provide full legal representation to victims of domestic violence or sexual assault in protection orders and family law cases (divorce, separation, paternity). To apply for services, complete the intake form and email it to SCLS. Interpretation provided if needed.
