Local Programs

SAFE Project supports survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and family violence. Emergency services include: a 24-hour hotline, shelter (pets may be sheltered with owners), food and household supplies, transportation, crisis counseling, safety planning, child/baby items, clothing, and financial aid. Safety services include: lock changes, safety plans, cell phone, online safety, a private P.O. box, and help with filing protection orders. Legal assistance offered for: attorney referrals, victims’ compensation, reporting with law enforcement, getting police report, court and police accompaniment, and financial aid for attorney fees. Services also available in the following areas: physical and mental health, children’s needs, housing, employment, and prevention and outreach programs. SAFE Project serves Albany County.

The Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation (GARF) provides services to those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include: shelter, community education, victim advocacy, crime victim’s compensation, support groups, children’s programs, help with protection orders, life skills programs, and more. GARF serves Campbell County.

Carbon County Citizens Organized to see Violence End offers free and confidential services. The types of services offered include: victim advocacy through crisis intervention, one-on-one assistance, advocates available 24 hours per day, emergency shelter, advocacy to court hearings and medical appointments, individual and group counseling, emergency financial assistance, emergency transportation, and clothing.

Crook County Family Violence & Sexual Assault Services are free and confidential. Services include:  a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, emergency financial assistance, outreach, education, and more. Legal assistance is available for protection orders, victims’ compensation, accompaniment to court and other locations, and arranging a civil standby.

The Goshen County Task Force on Family Violence & Sexual Assault provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include: crisis intervention, advocacy, immediate response and support, individual and group counseling (long- and short-term), emergency housing, and transportation. Safe Haven of Hot Springs County (formerly the HOPE Agency and Crisis Line), serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, child abuse and neglect, and elder abuse and neglect. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, shelter, financial assistance, support groups, accompaniment at court, help with completing protection orders, legal assistance, and more.

The Family Crisis Center serves individuals and families affected by domestic violence. Services include: short-term counseling, support groups, referrals to shelter, and client advocacy (legal/medical/in court/with law enforcement). Safehouse Services is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, elder abuse, and trafficking. They operate a shelter, facilitate support groups and advocacy programs, assist with protection order filings, and provide 24-hour crisis care and safety planning.  Serving the Cheyenne community.

The Turning Point provides services to any victim of family violence, sexual assault, incest, and child abuse. Services include: 24-hour crisis hotline, safety planning, filling out protection orders, accompaniment in court, emergency shelter (with arrangements for pets), transportation, school programs, support groups, referrals, and outreach. The Turning Point has shelters in Kemmerer and Afton, and an outreach office in Star Valley. Serving Lincoln County.

The Self Help Center’s mission is to provide services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, stalking, and elder abuse. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, temporary shelter for female victims and their children, transitional housing, assistance in obtaining protection orders and medical care, referrals, support groups, and more. The Helpmate Crisis Center and Crime Victim Assistance supports victims of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault. Services include: crisis intervention, shelter, transportation, resources, support groups, and more.

Project SAFE, Inc. provides assistance and support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other crimes. Services provided include: shelter, transitional housing, emergency transportation, medical/legal referrals, victims’ compensation information, court escort, assistance applying for protection orders, child visitation, financial assistance, and more. Serving Platte County.

The Advocacy & Resource Center assists people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of violence. They help in navigating the criminal justice system and provide free services that help secure safety and self-sustainability after victimization. Services include: a 24-hour crisis line, shelter, safety planning, financial assistance, accompaniment in court, assistance with victims’ compensation and protection orders, referrals, housing advocacy, and more. Serving Sheridan County.

YWCA’s Center for Families and Children helps survivors of all forms of family violence including domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, dating violence, and elder abuse. Services include: safety planning, protection order/court accompaniment, emergency shelter and basic needs, 24-hour crisis line, economic assistance, and referrals. They also have an office in Green River. Serving Sweetwater County.

Community Safety Network provides a safe place for people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Victim support is personalized and services include: emergency shelter, pet support, legal support, safety planning, education and training programs, and more. Serving the community of Jackson.

The Worland Crisis Prevention and Response Center serves people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, elder abuse, and child abuse. Services include: crisis intervention, emergency shelter, counseling, financial advocacy, legal advocacy, forensic exam accompaniment, referrals for emergency medical assistance, safety planning, and more. Serving Washakie County.
