We revised the question How will a judge make a decision about custody? in our Wyoming Custody section, based on 2025 legislative changes clarifying what a custody judge will take into consideration.
On our Abuse Using Technology page, we completely rewrote the following sections with the help of NNEDV’s Safety Net team:
- GPS Monitoring
- Computer Crimes
- Responding to Technology Misuse: Civil and Criminal Options
- Evidence Issues in Cases Involving Technology
- Ways Courts Use Technology
We also created two new questions, What are some signs that I might be being monitored by GPS? and How can co-parenting technology help me stay safe?
Spanish translation coming soon.
In our Wyoming State Gun Laws section, we revised two questions to clarify that the protection order forms allow the judge to order that the abuser cannot have a gun. We also updated the links to the Domestic Violence Order of Protection form and the Domestic Violence Ex Parte Order of Protection form.
- I am a victim of domestic violence and the abuser has a gun. Is that legal?
- I have an order of protection against the abuser. Can s/he have or buy a gun?
In the following two questions in our Wyoming Restraining Orders section, we updated links to the motion and affidavit for an order to show cause, and we added links to the Wyoming Judicial Branch’s instructions for filing the motion:
- What can I do if the abuser violates the order?
- What is the penalty for violating the order of protection?
Changes made in English and Spanish.
To prepare our Rhode Island State Gun Laws page for translation into Spanish, we reviewed and revised all 15 questions for clarity and accuracy, and created two new questions. We added two new related statutes to our Rhode Island Crimes page and our Selected Rhode Island Statutes page.
