Included in this list are organizations that provide free or low-cost legal services to victims and survivors of abuse, as well as to others who qualify. Even if the organization does not have a lawyer available to represent you in court, you may want to ask if there is a lawyer with whom you can consult to obtain advice. We list the organizations by the county where the office is located, but many offices serve multiple counties. We indicate the “counties served” whenever possible. Victims’ Safe Harbor Foundation, Inc. (VSHF), a 501(c)(3) social impact organization that provides low-cost direct legal services, educational presentations, and research services to expand the knowledge base regarding domestic violence, intimate partner violence, coercive control, and child abuse. VSHF is located within the Central Florida area and services Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Marion, Sumter, Osceola, Polk, Citrus, Hernando, Brevard, and Lake counties. However, they can serve needs outside of their regular localities when requested.
