The Domestic Abuse is Not Acceptable (DANA) program supports victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The Anson County Domestic Violence Coalition & Rape Crisis Center provides services for victims and survivors of domestic violence, family violence, and sexual assault. Services include: 24-hour crisis line, counseling, hospital accompaniment, court accompaniment, sexual assault advocacy, emergency transportation, referrals to emergency shelter, child advocacy, support groups, and more. Serving Anson County.

A.S.H.E. provides services to survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault, and their loved ones, in Ashe County. Services include: a 24-hour crisis line, safe emergency and transitional housing, crisis intervention counseling, medical and legal advocacy, support groups, case management, referrals, and educational programming.

OASIS serves victims of domestic and sexual violence. Services include a 24-hour crisis line in English and Spanish; confidential emergency shelter, transitional and permanent supportive housing, crisis counseling, information and referrals, legal and medical advocacy, support groups, education and skill development, and prevention programs. Services are provided in English and Spanish. The OASIS website provides local resources for food, childcare, free wi-fi access locations, unemployment, and healthcare. Their offices in Boone and Newland serve Watauga and Avery counties.

Ruth’s House provides services to victims of domestic abuse. Services include a 24-hour helpline, court advocacy, counseling, case management, emergency shelter, safety planning, protective order assistance, and community education. Service are available in English and Spanish.  Serving Beaufort County.

Families First provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include: a 24-hour hotline and crisis intervention, emergency shelter and assistance, community education, counseling, support groups, court advocacy and accompaniment, information, referrals, empowerment classes, and more. They have offices in Elizabethtown and Whiteville, which serve Bladen and Columbus counties.

Hope Harbor Home serves victims of domestic and sexual violence in Brunswick County. Services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter for women and their children, empowerment support group, victim advocacy, and community education and outreach programs. Services are provided in English and Spanish.

Helpmate provides services to victims of domestic violence in Buncombe County. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, safety planning, case management, court advocacy, children’s services, outreach and education, and LGBTQIA+ outreach. Helpmate’s services are available by walk-in at the Buncombe County Family Justice Center.

Options serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and rape in Burke County. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, court advocacy, assistance with protection orders, community education and outreach, individual therapy, and support groups.

The Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network (CVAN) provides services to victims of domestic violence. Their services include: a 24-hour hotline, a confidential shelter, counseling, support groups, outreach center, family & friends program, children’s program, teen program, court advocacy, and community education programs. CVAN serves Cabarrus County.

The Shelter Home of Caldwell County provides services to survivors/victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, rape, and sexual assault, and their children. Services include: emergency crisis shelter, child advocacy, varying types of support groups for adults/parents/children, court advocacy, legal services, support throughout legal proceedings, prevention educational programs, referrals, and more. The Carteret County Domestic Violence Program provides services to domestic violence survivors in the county. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter and assistance, court and hospital advocacy, case management, support groups, counseling, community education, assistance with immigration matters relating to domestic violence, food/clothing/furniture assistance, and more. Spanish interpretation and translation available. 

Family Services of Caswell County provides services to victims of all types of domestic abuse. Their Women’s Resource Center offers help finding housing, emotional support, employment and financial training, social security, and more.

REACH of Clay County offers services to victims of domestic and interpersonal violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, rape crisis advocacy, court advocacy, job counseling and training, education services, and health education. Their emergency shelter is located in Clay County and serves individuals from surrounding counties; shelter referrals can be made between counties and states.

The Abuse Prevention Council serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Cleveland County, and victims of sexual assault in Lincoln County. The CARE Family Violence Program provides domestic violence services to victims, children, and the abusers. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, safe house, advocacy, legal information, training, case management, individual counseling, parenting workshops, support groups, a batterer’s treatment program, and education and outreach programs. Childcare is provided during support group meetings.

Outer Banks Hotline provides services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, safe house shelter, safety planning, crisis intervention, prevention services, court accompaniment, assistance with protective orders and victim’s compensation, legal advocacy, resources for translation, and more. Emergency pet boarding is available at no cost for safe house residents. Serving the Outer Banks.

The Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC) provides comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. The Cathy Mabry Cloninger Center is a safe residence and resource center for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Their services include: a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, safety planning, court advocacy, individual and group counseling, life skills classes, support groups, referrals, part-time transportation, and part-time childcare. Services are bilingual. Serving Gaston County.

Families Living Violence Free (FLVF) is a domestic violence and rape crisis center. Their services include: a 24-hour crisis support hotline in English and Spanish, emergency shelter placement, safety planning, transportation, individual counseling and support, court and hospital advocacy, empowerment services, and youth and community education. FLVF ensures language access services for victims and survivors with limited English proficiency. Serving Granville County.

SAFE provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Their services include a 24-hour hotline, victim support, referrals to community services, and empowerment classes. Serving Lenoir and Greene counties.

Hannah’s Place provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. REACH of Haywood County serves survivors of domestic violence, dating abuse, sexual assault, elder abuse, and human trafficking. Their services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, legal and court assistance, counseling, support groups, housing assistance, services for the elderly and persons with disabilities, referrals, and community education and prevention programs. The REACH shelter, Laura’s House, is available for victims, their dependents, and registered service animals.

Safelight, formerly Mainstay, provides support for survivors of interpersonal violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, shelter, counseling, case management, support groups, housing support, and job training. Safelight operates a Child Advocacy Center where children and their families are provided crisis intervention due to abuse. Their Family Advocacy Center (317 N. Washington Street) is a central location where victims can access legal advocacy, law enforcement, and emergency room advocacy in one place. Services provided in English and Spanish. Serving Henderson County.

The Hoke County Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center provides services to victims in Hoke County and the surrounding areas. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, safety planning, support groups, assistance with victim’s compensation and protective orders, hospital accompaniment, housing advocacy, legal aid referral, emergency financial assistance, prevention programs, transportation, and more. Services are bilingual.

The Hyde County Hotline serves victims of domestic abuse and sexual victimization. Their services include: a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, victim advocacy, survivor services, safe shelter, safety planning, referrals, educational programs, and support groups.

My Sister’s House is a safe place for women and children fleeing domestic, sexual violence and human trafficking. Counselors and advocates work directly with individuals, providing shelter, hospital and court advocacy, transportation, peer support and case management services. Serving Iredell County.

Harbor of Johnston County provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and families in transition. Services include: a 24-hour crisis line, crisis intervention, emergency shelter, safety planning, hospital accompaniment, case management, assistance with filing protective orders, support groups, educational training, a program for families in transition, and more.

The Lincoln County Coalition Against Domestic Violence (LCCADV) offers programs and services for survivors of domestic violence. Their services include: a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, legal and court advocacy, safety planning, support groups, interpretation services, financial planning, job skills and placement, housing assistance, and more. LCCADV also offers referrals for: emergency and medical treatment, legal aid, counseling, and child advocacy. Clients may stay at their shelter, Amy’s House, for a few days or up to 90 days. REACH of Macon County offers services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, assistance with protective orders and victim’s compensation, legal aid referrals, court and medical accompaniment, violence prevention education, youth advocacy, safety planning, and crisis counseling, The REACH shelter has kennel services on-site for the pets of clients. Emergency room advocates are available 24 hours a day to provide support and information to victims of sexual assault.

New HOPE of McDowell, formerly Family Services of McDowell County, provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the community. The mission of Mitchell County SafePlace is to help eliminate domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and elder abuse, through education, advocacy, and crisis services. Their 24-hour hotline helps victims with counseling, safe shelter, and legal support.

Compass Center provides services to victims of domestic violence. Safe Haven provides services to victims of domestic violence in the Pender County area. The Center for Family Violence Prevention serves survivors of domestic violence. Steps to HOPE serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Their services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy, assistance with orders of protection, education classes, group support, an intervention program, and more. Steps to HOPE partners with Pisgah Legal Services to offer free legal advice. Serving Polk County, North Carolina as well as Upstate South Carolina.

New Horizons provides services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Their services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, safety planning, hospital/court accompaniment, support groups, referrals, counseling, community outreach, and more. The Southeastern Family Violence Center serves adult and child victims of intimate partner violence and family violence. Family Resources of Rutherford County provides services to victims of family violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, community programs, counseling, medical assistance, job skills, parenting skills classes, court/medical accompaniment, safety planning, emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, residential home for children and teens suffering from abuse and neglect, and more. Their Child Advocacy Center brings together Child Protective Services, law enforcement, and other agencies to centralize the investigation, intervention, and coordination of services in one location.

U Care, Inc. is Sampson County’s domestic violence and sexual assault program. Their services include: a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, emotional support, referrals to other agencies, court advocacy, crisis intervention, support groups, abuser treatment, batterer intervention program, life skills training, and more.

DVRCCSC provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children. The Inner Banks Hotline provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual victimization in Tyrrell County. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, advocacy, transportation, temporary shelter, information and referrals, and educational programs.

Turning Point serves survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Services include: a 24-hour crisis line, confidential shelter, transportation, counseling, support groups, case management, hospital accompaniment, crisis intervention, referrals, safety planning, mental health services, parenting classes, teen dating violence prevention program, and more. Their Children’s Advocacy Center is a child-friendly facility where professionals provide medical exams, forensic interviews, advocacy and case management for children who may have been abused or witnessed violence, and their caregivers.
