Included in this list are organizations that provide free or low-cost legal services to victims and survivors of abuse, as well as to others who qualify. Even if the organization does not have a lawyer available to represent you in court, you may want to ask if there is a lawyer with whom you can consult to obtain advice. We list the organizations by the county where the office is located, but many offices serve multiple counties. We indicate the “counties served” whenever possible. 603 Legal Aid was formed by the merger of the NH Bar Association Pro Bono Program and the Legal Advice & Referral Center. 603 Legal Aid helps low-income individuals by providing free civil legal advice and information by telephone, representing someone in court, or through a referral to a volunteer attorney or another program for legal help. Areas of legal service include: family law, domestic violence, protective orders, divorce, child support and custody, abuse and neglect, housing issues, public benefits, and more. Apply for legal aid by phone or by completing the online application form. Intake specialists speak English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
