Local Programs

Ahimsa House provides a 24-hour hotline, assistance to domestic violence victims, including pets in safety planning and protective orders, emergency safe housing and veterinary care for pets while their owners stay at a domestic violence shelter, and other services. These services are available anywhere in Georgia.

Peace Place offers an emergency shelter, transitional and scattered site housing, outreach and legal advocacy, safety planning, educational presentations, and children's services. They offer services in Banks, Barrow, and Jackson counties.

Christian League for Battered Women operates a 24-hour emergency shelter and 24-hour crisis line. They also provide referral services to social agencies, legal advocacy and referrals, medical assistance resources, peer counseling, children's programs, and community education services. Services are available to women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

Crisis Line and Safe House provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, an emergency shelter, bedside advocacy program at the emergency room during forensic examination, comfort kits, referral services and support during follow up medical examinations. Services are provided to sexual assault and domestic violence victims in Central Georgia.

Safe Haven provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, legal advocacy, a transitional housing program, case management services, parenting classes, transportation and childcare. They serve Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Jenkins, Screven, and Washington Counties. They provide services to both residents of the shelter and outreach services to non-residents.

Camden House provides a domestic violence shelter, assistance getting a temporary protection order, access to a child advocate, access to food and clothing and job advising. Camden House provides services to Camden and Charlton counties. Services are available to both shelter residents and non-residents.

SAFE Shelter provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, an emergency shelter, case management, food, clothing and other personal items, support groups for adults and children, assistance with temporary protective orders, courtroom advocacy, and on-site professional counseling services. SAFE Shelter serves Savannah, Georgia. There are both services available to shelter residents and outreach services to non-residents.

The Army Family Advocacy Program is for members of the Army and their families. Specifically, this program is located at Fort Benning. They offer a victim advocacy program which provides comprehensive assistance and support to victims of spouse abuse, including crisis intervention, assistance in securing treatment for injuries, information on legal rights and proceedings, referral to military and civilian shelters and other resources. An advocate will ensure victims are properly advised of their options for restricted and unrestricted reporting. They also provide a 24-hour hotline for sexual and domestic violence victims.

Cherokee Family Violence Center, Inc. provides a variety services to domestic violence victims including an emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis center in English and Spanish, in-person crisis counseling, support groups for adults and children, court accompaniment, free legal assistance, income based supportive housing, household establishment assistance, public benefits assistance and free emergency 911 cell phones. They serve Cherokee County, Georgia.

Project Safe is a non-profit organization working to end domestic violence by providing domestic violence victims a 24-hour hotline, an emergency shelter, pet sheltering, safety planning, legal and social service advocacy, emergency financial assistance, ongoing supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and their children, transitional housing services, community support groups and short term individual counseling. Project Safe primarily assists women and children from Athens and the surrounding area but can help domestic violence victims from all across Georgia.

YWCA of Northwest Georgia provides a 24-hour hotline, a domestic violence shelter, counseling services, transitional housing and legal advocacy. Services are available to both residential and non-residential clients.

Liberty House provides a 24-hour hotline as well as emergency housing for domestic violence victims, legal advocacy, support groups and referrals. They serve Dougherty, Baker, Early, Miller, Clay, Calhoun, Lee, Crisp, Dooly, Macon, Schley, Webster, Stewart, Quitman, Randolph, Terrell, and Sumter counties. Services are available in English and Spanish.

North Georgia Mountain Crisis Network operates a 24 hour emergency shelter, 24 hour crisis hotline, and provides a number of services including safety planning, children's services, parenting support, case management, legal advocacy, and social services advocacy. Services are available both residents of the shelter and non-residents, services are offered in Fannin, Gilmer, and Pickens counties.

Promise Place provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, weekly support groups, legal advocacy, emergency needs assistance, transitional housing and safety planning. They provide services to Fayette, Spalding, Pike, and Upson counties.

Services provided by Hospitality House include, a 24-hour crisis hotline, a domestic violence shelter, financial support for transportation, and housing, relocation assistance, individual counseling, parenting and domestic violence support groups, legal advocacy and court accompaniment, social service agency referral and advocacy, childcare and follow- up services. Hospitality House for Women provides services to both English- speaking and non-English speaking families. They provide services to both residents of the shelter and outreach clients who do not live in the shelter. Services are available to domestic violence victims in Rome and Floyd County.

Operates a 24-hour crisis line, confidential emergency shelter, and transitional housing program. Provides case management services, counseling and support groups, and legal advocacy. They serve Forsyth and North Fulton Counties.

Glynn Community Crisis center provides a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, legal services, counseling, family support, and emergency services for survivors of domestic violence. Services are available to both residents of the shelter and non-residents.

Circle of Love Center provides a 30-day shelter, support groups, legal advocacy, safety planning assistance, emergency client assistance and referrals. Circle of Love uses tele-interpreters to communicate with victims in over 150 languages. Provides resources in Greene, Morgan, Putnam, Baldwin, and Hancock Counties to both residents of the shelter and non-residents.

Circle of hope operates an emergency shelter, and provides 24-hour support and crisis intervention services for victims and their children, and assists with safety planning. Circle of Hope serves Habersham, Stephens and White counties.

Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence provides an emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis line, outreach for non-residential members, support groups for residential and non-residential clients and legal advocacy. They provide services to Elbert, Franklin, and Hart Counties of Northeast Georgia.

Haven House is a shelter for domestic violence victims. Haven House provides services to both residential clients, who live in the shelter and non-residential clients. For residential clients these services include weekly meetings with Haven House’s adult services case worker. For non-residential clients these services include an emergency 911 cell phone and new home locks. Services provided in Henry, Butts, Lamar, and Jasper counties.

WINGS provides emergency short-term shelter, legal advocacy, medical accompaniment, support and educational groups and financial assistance. Services are available to domestic violence victims in Laurens, Dodge, Bleckley, Wilkinson, Wilcox, Johnson, and Telfair counties, or victims who need to relocate to one these counties for safety.

Tri-County Protective Agency provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, an emergency safe shelter, victim support group, individual counseling, clothing, food, medical assistance, legal services, housing, transportation, referrals and advocacy and children’s services. They serve Liberty, Tattnall, Evans, Long and Bryan counties along with Ft. Stewart, Georgia.

The Haven provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, an emergency shelter program, a case management program, legal advocacy, a children’s program and an outreach program for non-residents of the shelter. The Haven serves Atkinson, Berrien, Brooks, Clinch, Colquitt, Cook, Echols, Lanier, and Lowndes Counties.

Operates an emergency shelter and 24-hour crisis line. They provide legal advocacy and court support, case management, counseling and support groups, scholarship application assistance, and community outreach programs. NOA’s Ark serves domestic violence victims in Dawson and Lumpkin counties.

Glynn Community Crisis center provides a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, legal services, counseling, family support, and emergency services for survivors of domestic violence. Services are available to both residents of the shelter and non-residents.

Hope Harbour operates an emergency shelter and a 24-hour crisis line. They also provide legal advocacy, assistance with safety planning, relocation assistance, support groups, and coordinate a Domestic Assault Response Team (DART) program with the Columbus Police department. Services are available in in Muscogee, Harris, Chattahoochee, Marion, Taylor and Talbot counties.

The Community Welcome House provides a 24-hour crisis line, an emergency shelter, comprehensive case management, assistance with temporary protective orders and assistance with safety plans. Services are offered to residents of the shelter. They serve Coweta, Fulton, Fayette and Meriwether counties.

Shepherd’s Rest Ministries operates a 24-hour emergency shelter and hotline. They provide legal advocacy services, support groups, emergency transportation, financial aid, referral services, and school enrollment assistance. Services are offered to domestic violence victims in the Paulding County community.

Promise Place provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, weekly support groups, legal advocacy, emergency needs assistance, transitional housing and safety planning. They provide services to Fayette, Spalding, Pike, and Upson counties.

They provide shelter, support groups, assistance with children, legal services and financial services.

Fight Abuse in the Home (FAITH) operates a 24-hour hotline and 24-hour emergency shelter for victims of domestic or sexual violence. FAITH also provides legal advocacy, therapy, children's programs, and referrals to other victim services. FAITH provides services to domestic violence victims displaced due to family or sexual violence in Muscogee, Harris, Chattahoochee, Marion, Taylor, and Talbot counties.

SafeHomes Augusta provides services to victims throughout East Central Georgia, including Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Jefferson, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren, and Wilkes Counties. Services provided by SafeHomes include a 24-Hour Crisis line, Emergency shelter, legal advocacy, support groups and counseling, life skills classes, parenting classes, residential aftercare, children's programs, teen dating violence intervention, and community education. SafeHomes provides services to both residents and non-residents of their emergency shelter.

Project Renewal operates an emergency shelter, counseling, and a victim witness program, which helps survivors navigate legal processes. Project Renewal serves Rockdale, Newton, and Walton Counties.

Promise Place provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, weekly support groups, legal advocacy, emergency needs assistance, transitional housing and safety planning. They provide services to Fayette, Spalding, Pike, and Upson counties.

Halcyon Home for Battered Women provides 24-hour crisis intervention, referrals by phone, follow-up contact and services, criminal justice support, group treatment, emergency financial aid, crisis hotline, personal advocacy, 24-hour safe shelter, life skills and personal development training, household establishment assistance, emergency legal and courthouse advocacy, sexual assault crisis intervention and support and daycare (in shelter). They serve Thomas, Grady, Decatur, Seminole and Mitchell counties.

Ruth’s Cottage provides an emergency shelter, support and education groups, relocation assistance, individual and group support, legal advocacy assisting in temporary protective orders and stalking orders, as well as referrals to other specialized services. They provide services to Tift, Turner, Irwin, Ben Hill and Worth counties. Services are available to shelter residents as well as on an outreach basis to non-residents.

The Refuge provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, a domestic violence shelter, legal advocacy, support groups and child advocacy. They serve Toombs, Montgomery, Treutlen, Wheeler and Emanuel counties.

Harmony House provides a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, an emergency shelter, safety planning, case management, legal advocacy, social service advocacy, children’s advocacy, counseling and support group and assistance with medical, transportation, employment, and housing needs. Services are provided to both clients who are residential (residing in the shelter) and outreach (victims that do not want or need emergency shelter but still want services).

SAFE is a domestic violence and sexual assault program with a designated service area of both Towns County and Union County. SAFE operates an emergency shelter, provides legal advocacy, referral services, children's programs, family violence assessments and case management, prevention education programs, sexual assault prevention and services, and a family support center program.

Promise Place provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, weekly support groups, legal advocacy, emergency needs assistance, transitional housing and safety planning. They provide services to Fayette, Spalding, Pike, and Upson counties.

The Family Crisis Center provides an emergency shelter and a number of services only provided to the shelter residents such as children’s groups, children’s fingerprinting, transportation, financial assistance, violence advocates, counselors, parenting and life skills classes and follow up services. Services available to residents of the shelter and non-residents alike are an emergency hotline support groups, safety planning, legal advocacy, and referral services. They serve Walker, Dade, Catoosa, & Chattooga Counties.

Our House provides a 60-day domestic violence shelter as well as an outreach program for non-residents of the shelter. Additionally they offer assistance with jobs searches, housing, custody battles, transportation and childcare.

Services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, crisis intervention, case management, safety planning, legal and social service advocacy, support groups, parenting program, outreach, follow-up services, individual support, referral services to social services, mental health services, employment services, and medical services. The center serves Whitfield, Murray and Gordon counties.
