Local Programs

Adams Wells Crisis Center (AWCC) provides food, shelter, clothing, and essential and supportive care in a safe and secure environment. Through an extensive referral network of resources in Adams and Wells counties, assistance with basic needs are addressed, including: housing, employment, training and job placement, education and counseling. Weekly support groups are offered for residential and non-residential clients, focusing on topics such as: parenting, money management, financial assistance, child care issues, Domestic Violence & Safety Planning education, stress management, developing a support network, assertiveness training, and social/relational skills.

YWCA Northeast Indiana provides help and support for anyone who in crisis because of domestic violence: women, men, transgender individuals, and families of all types. Call crisis line 24/7 to get help or speak to someone right away. The YWCA Northeast Indiana provides emergency shelter and community programs.

Turning Point provides the following services: emergency shelter, education, prevention and training, 24 hour toll free help/crisis line, community outreach and legal advocacy. The Center for Women and Families attend victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse providing services for: emergency shelter, transitional housing, long-term housing advocacy, hospital advocacy, transportation assistance, court advocacy, safety planning, individual counseling, support groups, information and referrals, economic success services, therapy and art therapy. Serving Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties in Indiana.

A Better Way provides services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include a 24-hour hotline, safe shelter for up to 45 days, transitional housing, rapid re-housing, a rape crisis center, counseling, support groups, children’s programs, and legal advocacy. Mobile advocates can meet clients in flexible meeting locations. They also offer programs for teen dating violence and domestic violence prevention. Serving Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Henry, Jay, Randolph, Union, and Wayne counties.

HELP of Door County provides services and programs throughout Door County to victims of domestic abuse as well as to their families and friends. Services are free, confidential and available regardless of age, gender, race, sexual orientation or disability. Available services: 24 hr crisis intervention hotline, safe homes network for immediate shelter, transitional living program, legal advocacy, women’ support groups and community outreach.

Crisis Connection, Inc. provides 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention/counseling, follow-up contact, and safety planning for victims of domestic and sexual violence. They also provide assistance with filing protective orders; victim impact statements; victim notification rights; address confidentiality; information and assistance with violent crime compensation forms; and safe housing options. Serving Crawford, Dubois, Martin, Orange, Perry, Pike, and Spencer counties. 

The Elkhart County Women’s Shelter (ECWS) is the only domestic violence shelter in Elkhart County and only serves women and children. The 40 bed shelter is open 24 hours a day, 365 days per year to provide crisis intervention and safe shelter for victims of domestic abuse.

The Center for Women and Families provides trauma-informed advocacy and support for individuals, families and communities affected by intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Services include: emergency shelter, transitional housing, long-term housing advocacy, hospital advocacy, transportation assistance, court advocacy, safety planning, individual counseling, daily support groups, information and referrals, economic success services and art therapy. The Center for Women and Families has four regional locations serving nine Kentuckiana counties: Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Clark and Floyd counties in Indiana.

Firefly Children and Family Alliance provides professional counseling, free and voluntary services to survivors, and specialized programs to end violence and support survivor advocacy. Firefly also has a 24-hour hotline available and manages the Marion County Rape Crisis Center, which is available to those seeking emergency support.

McKenzie’s Hope, the Huntington County Child Advocacy Center Inc., provides advocacy for children, teenagers, and families; as well as advocacy for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. 

Beaman Home in Northern Indiana provides a continuum of services to support victims through the initial crisis and along their journey to achieve abuse-free, self sufficient lives. programs and services include: 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, outreach services, emergency and essential transportation, case management and ancillary services, support, referral, and advocacy for victims of family violence.

Stepping Stone Shelter provides services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Services include: a 24 hour crisis line, safety planning, shelter, help navigating the legal system (including protective orders), counseling, transitional housing, life skills training, and more.

Alternatives provides shelter system for victims of family violence or homelessness and their dependent children, transitional housing, crisis advocacy, Alternatives is 1 of 29 Indiana domestic violence shelters. Also serves six county area: Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Madison, Marion, and Tipton. The Alternative initiative also provides children, intervention and prevention programs, aswell as education and training.

Family Crisis Shelter of Montgomery County is a domestic violence and sexual assault residential shelter. Offering case management, legal advocacy, crisis intervention, youth program, transitional program, support and educational groups.

Noble House is a shelter for women and children. Providing assistance to victims who have struggled with homelessness, domestic violence, or addiction. Noble House provides the encouragement and supportive services necessary for developing self-sufficiency. In order to reside at Noble House clients must meet certain criteria, which include agreeing to pay service fees.

Hoosier Hills PACT provides programming to victims of domestic violence including: temporary shelter, transitional housing, case management, support groups, food, and clothing. A 24-hour crisis line and court/hospital advocacy are provided for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Caring Place provides safe shelter, legal advocacy, women’s recovery program (housing), emergency response volunteer and education. Serving adult (male & female)​ victims of domestic violence and their dependent children. The Caring Place welcomes and helps victims of LGBTQ intimate partner violence.

Albion Fellows Bacon Center provides 24-hr crisis line, emergency shelter, legal advocacy, peer advocacy and children’s program for individuals who have experienced sexual or domestic violence. Men, women, and their minor children are welcome. Serving Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick, Spencer, Perry, Dubois, Gibson, Pike, Orange, Crawford, and Harrison counties.

The Jennings County Council on Domestic Violence provides information, support and access to community resources to victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and stalking. Some services provided are listening with a non-judgmental ear, information and referral, outreach materials, court advocacy including help filling out and filing protective orders, community education, business and school presentations, and several support group​s.

A Better Way, formerly Genesis of Richmond, provides services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include a 24-hour hotline, safe shelter for up to 45 days, transitional housing, rapid re-housing, a rape crisis center, counseling, support groups, children’s programs, and legal advocacy.
