Included in this list are organizations that provide free or low-cost legal services to victims and survivors of abuse, as well as to others who qualify. Even if the organization does not have a lawyer available to represent you in court, you may want to ask if there is a lawyer with whom you can consult to obtain advice. We list the organizations by the county where the office is located, but many offices serve multiple counties. We indicate the “counties served” whenever possible. Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO) is a non-profit regional law firm that provides high quality legal assistance in civil matters to help eligible low-income individuals and groups in western Ohio achieve self reliance, and equal justice and economic opportunity. Low-income residents of western Ohio turn to LAWO for help with a variety of legal matters. Our experienced staff of attorneys, paralegals, and support personnel serves 32 northwest and west central Ohio counties through offices in Dayton, Defiance, Findlay, Lima, Sandusky, Springfield and Toledo. LAWO provides a full range of legal services, including legal advice, negotiation, litigation, and community education. Special projects serve victims of domestic violence, seniors, and migrant farmworkers.

Southeastern Ohio Legal Services provide help with consumer issues, school problems, domestic violence situations, family law problems, health benefits issues, housing issues, public benefits issues, taxes, utility issues, employment issues, and other problems. SEOLS also helps groups of low-income people and other community partners to improve the lives of low-income people and families.
