Included in this list are organizations that provide free or low-cost legal services to victims and survivors of abuse, as well as to others who qualify. Even if the organization does not have a lawyer available to represent you in court, you may want to ask if there is a lawyer with whom you can consult to obtain advice. We list the organizations by the county where the office is located, but many offices serve multiple counties. We indicate the “counties served” whenever possible. You can click “View All” to look through the complete list of organizations.

The Women’s Resource Center, Inc. (WRC) provides services to adult and child victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence. Services include a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, safe housing, legal support, counseling, education programs, systems advocacy, and a teen Women’s Resource Center. Legal services include representation, consultation and court preparation, safety planning, assistance with Protection From Abuse (PFA) orders, child custody, child support, divorce, nuisance ordinances from landlords, evictions, consumer debt, banking and tax issues, immigration issues, and employment cases. WRC serves Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties.

NLSA provides civil legal services to low-income individuals and families affecting the basic necessities of life: shelter, income, healthcare, and safety. We provide civil legal aid to victims of domestic violence; and to issues involving custody, unemployment compensation, Social Security cases, housing cases, and more. Services include individual representation (ranging from document preparation to litigation), information, referral, and advice through a telephone helpline, community legal education, and support to clients who will be taking responsibility for handling some or all aspects of their own issue.
