Local Programs

The Crisis Center provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, information and referrals, short-term emergency housing for women and children, victim advocacy (court and law enforcement), medical accompaniment, case management, and counseling. The Crisis Center of Anderson & Cherokee Counties serves Cherokee and Anderson Counties.

The Safer Path Family Violence Shelter, formerly the Family Crisis Center, provides services to victims of sexual violence, family violence, and dating violence. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, safe shelter, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, support groups, counseling, transitional housing assistance, transportation, medical/legal accompaniment, community education, awareness programs, and referrals. Serving Atascosa, Bexar, Frio, Live Oak, McMullen, and Wilson counties.

The Ark provides services to victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, a 24-hour emergency shelter, emergency relocation, and legal advocacy (Protective Orders), support and outreach services, collaboration with other agencies for job placement, assistance with utility deposit waivers, short and long-term assistance is provided as well. The Ark is pet friendly. The Ark serves Brown, Coleman, and Comanche Counties.

Deaf Smith County Crisis Center offers services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, intervention, support and counseling, advocacy and education. Deaf Smith County Crisis Center serves Deaf Smith, Castro, Oldham, and Parmer Counties.

Healing Hearts Center offers services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include a 24-hour hotline, advocacy and case management, individual counseling, support groups, and community outreach. Healing Hearts Center serves Ellis and Dallas Counties.

Tralee Crisis Center provides services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent crime survivors. Services include a 24-hour safe shelter, crisis intervention, accompaniment (law enforcement, medical, and criminal justice), emergency transport, assistance, and support. Tralee Crisis Center serves Carson, Childress, Collingsworth, Donley, Hemphill, Roberts, and Wheeler Counties.

Women’s Center of East Texas provides services to women who are victims of domestic violence and their children and victims of sexual assault. Services include emergency shelter, outreach support, legal support and advocacy, accompaniment (to medical exams, law enforcement, prosecutors and court), 24-hour crisis hotline, information and referrals, and community education. All services are also available in Spanish. Women’s Center of East Texas serves Gregg, Harrison, Rusk, and Upshur Counties.

Guadalupe Valley Family Violence Shelter, Inc. (GVFVS) offers services to individuals and families who have been affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, safety planning, crisis intervention, sexual assault advocacy, victim advocacy, case management, counseling, support groups, outreach services, accompaniment, sustainability services, information and referrals, children's advocacy, and limited transportation. GVFVS serves Guadalupe, Gonzales, Karnes, and Wilson Counties.

Panhandle Crisis Center, Inc. provides services to adult and child victims of family violence, child abuse, and stranger or non-stranger sexual assault. Services include a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention and advocacy, safe house for victims and their children, accompaniment services, counseling and support groups in English and Spanish, legal and social services, transportation, food, clothing, and financial assistance, community education, and employment training programs. Panhandle Crisis Center serves Ochiltree, Hansford, and Libscomb Counties. The Spearman outreach office is by appointment only.

Services include emergency shelter, outreach support, legal support and advocacy, accompaniment (to medical exams, law enforcement, prosecutors and court), 24-hour crisis hotline, information and referrals, and community education. All services are available in English and Spanish. Women’s Center of East Texas serves Gregg, Harrison, Rusk, and Upshur Counties.

Kendall County Women's Shelter (KCWS) offers services to individuals and their children who have been affected by domestic violence. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, on-site pet shelter, group counseling, life skills classes, case management, individual counseling, legal advocacy, food and nutrition, and support groups. KCWS serves Kendall County.

Hill Country Crisis Council provides services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, abuse and neglect. Services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, hospital accompaniment, support, legal advocacy, as well as information and referrals to available community resources. All services to victims and their children are free of charge. Hill Country Crisis Council serves Kerr, Kendall, Kimble, Bandera, and Gillespie Counties.

The Family Crisis Center serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. FCC’s services include emergency support, information and referral, prevention education and community partnerships, and violence intervention programs. The outreach offices have varying hours and resources. Call or make an appointment before driving to any of the outreach offices. The Family Crisis Center serves Bastrop, Colorado, Fayette, and Lee Counties.

Women's Protective Services of Lubbock, Inc. provides free and confidential services for women, men, and children who have experienced domestic violence. Their services include: a 24-Hour crisis hotline, shelter, food, clothing, and transportation, individual and group therapy, support groups, parent education, children's programs, assistance in getting legal and social services, court accompaniment, job training, and community education.

Freedom Center, formerly Safe Place, Inc., provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, safety planning, transitional housing, counseling, emergency food and transportation, legal assistance, and more.

Open Arms Rape Crisis Center and LGBT+ Services, formerly the Concho Valley Rape Crisis Center, offers services to victims of sexual violence and gender discrimination. The services of Open Arms include: a 24-hour hotline, education and prevention services, LGBT+ services, medical accompaniment, advocacy, and a safe place to foster healing. Serving Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Reagan, Runnels, Schleicher, Sutton, and Tom Green counties.

Services include emergency shelter, outreach support, legal support and advocacy, accompaniment (to medical exams, law enforcement, prosecutors and court), 24-hour crisis hotline, information and referrals, and community education. All services are also available in Spanish. Women’s Center of East Texas serves Gregg, Harrison, Rusk, and Upshur Counties.

Focusing Families provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their family. Services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, crisis intervention, individual counseling, women and children’s shelter, accompaniment services for medical, legal and social services, support groups, community education, professional education, and a volunteer program. Focusing Families serves Waller, Washington, Austin, NW Harris, and Grimes Counties.

First Step, Inc. provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy, hospital advocacy, a children’s program, and education and training. First Step, Inc. serves Wichita County.
